Naci con el apellido "Unterweger" - la hija de dos austríacos nacidos y criados y casados en el sur de Austria. Cuando mi madre tenía cuatro meses de embarazo conmigo, inmigró al Canada para estar con mi padre: por lo tanto, mis verdaderos comienzos fueron en Europa, aunque nací en Norteamérica. Entonces, no es sorprendente que amo a Austria desde lo más profundo de mi corazón: el país, el idioma, las costumbres, la música, la comida … y sobre todo, “Weihnachten”, o Navidad – sus tradiciones, lo que se ve y se escucha, los olores y sabores de este tiempo tan maravilloso del año.

 
Únase conmigo esta semana mientras comparto algunos vistazos de una Navidad austriaca, así como yo la celebraba año tras año aun creciendo en el Canadá.

I was born an "Unterweger" - the daughter of two Austrians born and raised and married in southern Austria. When my mother was four months pregnant with me, she moved to Canada to be with my father. So my true beginnings were in Europe, although I was born in North America. And so, it's no wonder I love Austria in the deepest part of my heart: the land, the language, the customs, the music, the food ... and especially "Weihnachten", or Christmas - the traditions, the sights, the sounds, the smells, and the tastes of this wonderful time of year.
