EL CHUWL, the God Who Formed You:
the Strong One who fashioned you, who brought you forth, who gave you birth and life.
Other meanings of the Hebrew word “chuwl” are: to twist or whirl, to dance, to travail.
Now isn’t that a poetic way of picturing our being formed and birthed by God? In a twirling, travailing dance that leads to delight and joy?
“You people left the Rock who made you;
you forgot the God who gave you life.”
~Deuteronomy 32:18
Oh, EL CHUWL, God Who Formed Me:
may I never turn away from You, my Creator -
may I never forget You, my Mighty Rock, the source of my life, the One who dances over me with singing.
