Truths From Past Reflections: God Sees You

Truths From Past Reflections: God Sees You

Do you sometimes or almost always think that God does not see you? That from His place high up in the heavens He is not looking at you?

Psalm 33 says that “The Lord looks from heaven; He sees all the sons of men; from His dwelling place He looks out on all the inhabitants of the earth.” ~vs.13,14

Just think: even with more than 7,000,000,000 people living on the earth at this moment, God sees “all” the sons of men and “all” the inhabitants of the earth – including you.

Or perhaps you think that if He does see you, He looks at you disinterestedly and indifferently? Or with weariness and impatience? Maybe with frustration and anger? Or even with accusation and condemnation?

The same psalm says that He “fashions the hearts of them all” and “understands all their works.” ~v.15

I ask you: have you ever created something apathetically or carelessly? Probably not. Well, God does not either.

When He formed your heart – as He did the heart of every human being – He did it carefully and lovingly, because a heart is always fashioned with painstaking enthusiasm.

And now, He still watches over you and is attentive to all your works.  You – what you are and what you do – God sees it all, and it all matters to Him.  He sees everything about you through the eternal love with which He loves you. ~Jeremiah 31:3

This psalm says that God's eyes watch over you:

- to pour out His lovingkindness upon you (v.18)

- to deliver your soul from death (v.19)

- to keep you alive in famine (v.19)

- to be your help when you are in need or have trouble (v.20)

- to be your shield of protection when you are in danger (v.20)

- and again, to pour out His lovingkindness upon you (v.22)

A humble Egyptian slave woman learned this amazing truth many years ago, when she was exiled into a desert and ended up discovering God there; discovering Him, and discovering the fact that even though she was just a simple servant, wandering around lost in a desert with only her young son, God saw her and God cared about her.

“Then she called the name of the Lord who spoke to her, “You are El Roi, a God who sees.” ~Genesis 16:13

So dear friend: do you think or fear that God does not see you? He does see you.  He saw Hagar - He sees all the inhabitants of the earth – He sees YOU.

Are you afraid you don’t matter to Him?  You do matter to Him. Hagar mattered to Him – every man and woman on earth matters to Him – YOU matter to Him.

You only have to fear and honor Him in your life.

You only have to trust in His Holy Name, in the words He says to you, and in the promises He gives you.

You only have to hope (v.18), wait (v.20), and continue to hope (v.22) in Him and in the lovingkindness that He wants to pour out on you.

And He longs to do this for you, so that you never think and never fear that you walk alone, unnoticed and abandoned on the earth.

So that you can be fully convinced and fully trusting that Someone in the heavens sees you, values you, and is by your side to hold you up and help you in everything.

And so that your heart can rejoice in Him (v.21).
